We want to do everything we can to keep your information safe when you are banking online. That’s why we have implemented a powerful new security feature within our Internet Banking system. All you have to do to activate it is follow a few simple steps the next time you log in to Internet Banking.
Here’s how it works...
1. When you first sign on to Internet Banking after the security upgrade, you will be asked to select a random image and personal phrase after you enter your current user id and password. You will then be instructed to remember the image and personal phrase you select.
2. Next you will be asked a series of random questions. After answering the questions, the system will issue you a secure cookie that will be stored on your computer's hard drive.
What happens the next time I sign in to Internet Banking?
For subsequent sign ons you will enter your user id first and be directed to a page where you will see your personalized image and pass phrase. You will be notified not to proceed if the image and pass phrase presented are not your own. This step validates that you are on our site for Internet Banking. If the image and pass phrase are correct, you will enter your password. If the server then detects the presence of the secure cookie on your hard drive, you will proceed as normal into Internet Banking.
If the secure cookie is not detected, for example if you are logging in from a different computer, the server will prompt you to answer some of the random questions that you answered during your initial sign-on.
